Sasha Vaut, Development Director
Sasha comes to us from the Vermont Symphony Orchestra where she was Director of Philanthropy for over six years. “Sasha brings a wealth of expertise in development for nonprofit organizations,” said Abby White, VLT’s Vice President of Engagement. “With her fundraising experience and her passion for VLT’s mission, Sasha will help our organization garner more support to help us do more — for the land and for all of us who live here.”
Sasha is a graduate of Syracuse University and a CFRE (certified fund raising executive), an international standard for accountability, service and commitment to making a positive difference in the nonprofit world. She has worked for 16 years in philanthropy and nonprofit management, and is a graduate of the 2020 class of Leadership Champlain. She lives in Milton with her husband, her rescue dog, rescue cat, and rescue horse. She enjoys teaching horseback riding, listening to music, hiking and fly fishing.
“As an avid horseback rider, fly fisherman and lover of the outdoors,” said Sasha, “I’m excited to be lending my talents to conserving the spaces that make Vermont such a special place to live, work and play.”
Maggie Herrick, Bookkeeper
Maggie has joined us as Bookkeeper. Before starting this position, Maggie spent a decade in operations roles at forward thinking organizations within the food sector.
As VLT’s Bookkeeper, she has a variety of accounting, operational and human resources related responsibilities.
Maggie lives in Middlesex. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and worked in New York City before moving to Vermont. In her spare time, she likes to tend her homestead garden, cook family meals, or learn about and practice herbal medicine making.
“I’ve dedicated my career towards supporting organizations that are making positive changes in the food system,” said Maggie.
“VLT’s work is making profound and meaningful impacts in our local agricultural community every day. Seeing those connections and impacts continues to inspire and fulfill me.”
