Join us for VLT’s annual summer farm tour series! Throughout the growing season, we’ll host monthly farm tours to showcase conservation-minded producers from around the state. Each tour will highlight the incredible work of one farming team and give the public a chance to learn about how they steward the land while producing some of the finest food and farm products around.  

Located in Highgate Center, Choiniere Family Farm is a small, diversified organic dairy farm. Settled by Phillip and Bernadette in 1945 and passed down to Henry Choiniere, they are now a fourth-generation dairy. Their practices include rotational grazing, bedded pack housing, grazing annual forages, manure injection, 100% grass fed cows and investments for improved water quality. They milk 80, very happy, Grass-Fed Organic dairy cows for Organic Valley, along with raising 80 free range laying hens, 50 broiler chickens, 6 pigs, 6 ducks, and 2 extra cuddly dogs.
