This Game of Logging (GOL) training, hosted by Women and Our Woods, uses a world-recognized training curriculum that combines Scandinavian logging techniques with the latest systems for working safely around trees. The GOL program is broken into four separate levels. Level 1 will be offered on Saturday, May 30th and provides an overview of chainsaw safety and use and basic tree felling techniques. Level 2 will be offered on Sunday, May 31st and provides participants with basic saw maintenance and chain sharpening techniques and reinforces safe tree felling techniques. Each person in the class will have an opportunity to fell a tree each day. No chainsaw experience is needed to take Level 1 but to participate in Level 2, you need to have completed Level 1.
