Visit a birding hotspot at the height of migration

Every spring thousands of migratory songbirds, including the Hermit Thrush, our state bird, make their way north to summer breeding grounds. The Pratt Refuge in Duxbury is a birding hotspot and stopover for many of these migratory birds. Fred Pratt, a generous bird enthusiast, gave the refuge to the Vermont Land Trust along with 40 years of bird data.

Join Vermont Land Trust and the Mad Birders at the Pratt Refuge for a spring bird walk. Jeannie Elias (she/her) will lead us in identifying birds by sight and sound. The Pratt Refuge in Duxbury is a birding hotspot and stopover for many migratory songbirds. This event is perfect for birders of all abilities!

To join more spring birding walks in the Mad River Valley please see the Mad Birders Spring 2024 Schedule.
