Every fall thousands of migratory songbirds, including the Hermit Thrush, our state bird, make their way south to warmer winter grounds. The Pratt Refuge in Duxbury is a birding hotspot and stopover for many of these migratory birds. Fred Pratt, a generous bird enthusiast, gave the refuge to the Vermont Land Trust along with 40 years of bird data.

Veteran birders will lead small groups on a guided walk where we’ll identify birds by sight and sound. More advanced birders are also welcome to attend as this is an eBird hotspot and excellent fall migration location.
